The fastest way to fix Kahoot setup problems is to stop mixing two codes: the live PIN and the Quiz ID. They look similar in conversation, but they do different jobs.

What the PIN does

The PIN is the short code players type on kahoot.it to join the current live session. It changes between sessions and is not enough to fetch the question bank.

What the Quiz ID does

The Quiz ID usually appears in a URL after quizId=. It identifies the original Kahoot quiz, which is why QuizSolver asks for it when questions are hidden.

Which mode to use

  • Visible question text: use auto mode.
  • Only answer tiles are visible: use Quiz ID mode.
